"A New Way of Seeing" 2024 Solo Show

Along with many solo shows and paintings painted, I come up with a title every year that encapsulates the theme of the work. My first thought is, it's got to be catchy and smart and intelligent, but the fact of the matter is, I'm a painter and ultimately, the brush is what tells the story. No title can really describe it all. It's about experiencing each painting (and as a group) to get a real sense of their message and my vision. This year's show, “A New Way of Seeing", is about transforming reality into something “extra-ordinary” which really is my intent every year. I have the liberty of creating new realities with all the paints and tools at my disposal. Where I like to go is where the soul likes to go and how the soul sees and experiences what is around me. I guess what I’m describing is a spiritual exercise where the end result is a sense of the sacred.

My journey this year began with a series of tree paintings drawn to their profound symbolism and transformative potential. When I get it right, they mirror this new vision of metamorphosis. This is my intent for every painting that I complete.

Please join me and Worrell Gallery for this year’s sole show, “A New Way of Seeing”.
